Physicality

Day 3 of the Rugby World Cup saw another epic three-match spectacle.

It was Italy vs Namibia to kick-off the day, Sergio Parisse would be become the third player to play in five Rugby World Cups joining Samoa’s Brian Lima and former teammate Mauro Bergamasco, Complete Legends!

The game ended in a 10 try thriller, Italy running rampant as I expected they were flying high…the final score 47-22.

Next up was Ireland vs Scotland, the Irish starting their campaign off with an impressive win over their Northern hemisphere counterparts, final score 27- 03.

Could this year be the year that the luck of the Irish gives them the edge over the other teams.

The last game of the day was England vs Tonga.

“We need to get back to our direct physical game. If we can get that tonight, we’re in with a shot”

Tonga’s Toutai Kefu was looking for his side to bring a physical game to England in Sapporo.

After a fierce and passionate Sipi Tau, it looked like they were ready for battle but the English were equally ready and held them to a 15 point lead at half-time.

After 80 minutes it looked like it was England who killed off the game with a 32 point victory, 4 tries and a bonus point win is a good way to start off the campaign in Japan.

What a weekend of rubgy and there is still alot more to come, have you chosen your favourite yet??
